Been pretty quiet recently, because I have finally moved. Got a new gorgeous flat to haunt. Once I get my studio space set up (more like creative corner) I’ll be sure to share. In the meantime my crutches/injury means I need to sit down a lot so I’ve made the most of it and completed my second favourite buildings of Bristol project. I started with central hall old market and now we have the Everard building.. These hops Are the smallest I’ve worked on so I’ve had to make some decisions about how much detail to include. I’m happy with them both so far only one more to join them.

I‘ve had this on my likes for a while, but there is somehow something so satisfying about this cute pillow.  It really does look like a crisp fresh apple and would brighten up any room.  This apple pillow is by Winter Petals and is well worth a gander.

I favourite so many beautiful tutorials and never get round to resharing them.  I was particularly drawn to this one.  Not only the is the colour of the clutch delightful a real sunshine yellow, but the design is delightfully simple and chic.  I just need a few more hours in the day to make them all.
DIY bow clutch :)!

Half of me is posting this because it is so pretty the other half of me is posting it because soon I will be moving and am so excited about making my new flat my own.  It is possibly smaller than my current flat, but has the added bonus of a balcony (not a silly little modern one- a real one) and a lounge with what I term a “ballroom ceiling” its all very grand.  I just wish I had some nicer furniture to go with the grand surroundings.  And the sofa above would do nicely!

Last one for a while.  Red and White chevron earrings.  I’m really pleased how these ones turned out. :)

Anyone else excited for The Great Gatsby next month? I know I am so I made these Art Deco inspired earrings to while away the seconds, minutes, hours until its released.  The designs are hand embroidered on cotton before being mounted on bronze tone earring findings.

If you would like to give them a good home they are available on my Etsy and I am sure they would love to adorn your ears at your next Jazz age gathering.

P.s the gorgeous background is from a magazine, but seemed perfect to display them

My new loves. Can’t wait to get them out on the roads; not least because my 7 miler yesterday in my old trainers has knackered my right leg. Thought I’d best get a box fresh picture before I muss them all up! :-)

Late lunch :)

Late lunch :)

Here is my weekends embroidery (Yes, I do say that like I regularly complete embroideries in a weekend).
This tiny hoop is of the Central Hall on Old Market in Bristol.  Central Hall was built in the 1920’s and converted into flats in the 1980s.  Its one of my favourite landmarks of Bristol because I often find you can spot its tower on the skyline from all sorts of locations.  The source image I used was from when it was out of use and prior to its conversion into flats.  As a result the tower is still open to the elements. I’m slightly dubious about the blues of the windows (I had to improvise a bit as in the source image all the neighbouring buildings -save the punchbowl which is just cropped off- were vacant and boarded up).  So I will probably assess it for a few days and then consider adding frames or something to break up all that blue.
This teeny hoops is the first in a collection of three Bristol landmarks.  Who knows I might have another to share next weekend!

More reblogging from the brother, but I thought I would share with you what creative talents are lurking on the terraces these days.

fcumad:

FCUM - NO BUSINESS!
The DIY bug is spreading.  Finally a few more homemade flags to counteract the bland red/white/black tricolors with random Stone Roses lyric.
This one will be a big wavey flag I think and was made by fellow FCUM fans who are also behind this project.
In my opinion, it looks smart as fuck!

I caught sight of this on my feed the other day and immediately fell in love.  Rennie Mackintosh style roses and a cat? Its like Maidofclay read my mind when she made this.  Sadly I am not a good enough knitter to warrant one of these, but I have been seriously thinking whether I could use it to eat spaghetti.  Anything to justify the purchase!

What the entrepreneurial German brother has been up to.  He is like a more inspiring version of the satchel lady from the google adverts.

Great idea.  Beautifully executed.  Supporting the economy and encouraging football fans to get creative with their merchandise.  All good things :).

Although F.C United are famed for their original and often handcrafted flag designs so perhaps I shouldnt expect any less!

fcumad:

HATS!

Well in advance of the summer tour, the required sun protection has arrived.  The new Rotterdam 91-esque bucket hats are finished.  22 ordered, the remainder of which will no doubt be on sale via the RRF once they’ve all grabbed one themselves.  Anyone can get their own fan stuff made up these days.  Google it, and you’ll find plenty of producers of scarves, hats etc.   So grab a bucket hat whilst you can and then get thinking about what other merch, we as fans could produce at FC.

The photos also offered me the chance to show off my new toy.  A late 60s/early 70s version of the German football game “Tipp-Kick”.  Metal figures, in United colours.  Lovely.
